Join us for the South African premiere of The Last Seed, a documentary feature film on the past and
future of African food and agriculture. Experts, activists, and small-scale food producers unpack the
growing threats to age-old practices of seed saving, selection, and exchange on the African continent,
presenting alternatives in a bid to transform our food systems and challenge the destructive practices of
corporations. Farmers from Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania talk about the sustainability and
adaptability of their farming practices and share wisdom worth discovering.
The film premiere will be followed by a discussion and reception with the following guests:

Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), Biowatch South Africa and PELUM Tanzania. Written and directed by

Biodiversity (ACB) and Prof. Mvuselelo Ngcoya, University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, and others.
